[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Yeongcheon City in Gyeongbuk Province and Pulmuone are establishing a win-win cooperation model to revitalize the distribution of excellent local agricultural products.
On the 7th, the city signed a business agreement with Pulmuone, a domestic food company, to promote the distribution of outstanding local agricultural products.
Yeongcheon City will support the stable supply of excellent local agricultural products to Pulmuone through a smart farm production base, and Pulmuone will provide sales channels for Yeongcheon’s superior agricultural products to help activate distribution.
In January, Yeongcheon City was finally selected for the regional specialized rental-type smart farm project, a public contest by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, securing a total project budget of 20 billion KRW.
By 2023, the city plans to build 4 hectares of steel-frame glass greenhouses on 5 hectares near the Environmental Office in Geumho-eup, Yeongcheon City, and lease the facilities to young farmers who face difficulties with initial facility investments.
Choi Ki-moon, mayor of Yeongcheon City, said, “The agreement with Pulmuone is a great opportunity to increase consumer awareness of Yeongcheon’s agricultural products, and both organizations will do their best to maintain a continuous cooperative relationship by focusing on the production and management of excellent agricultural products.”
