[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters has produced 45 Level 2 Life Rescuers.
The Gyeonggi-do Fire School, an institution for life rescuer training, announced on the 8th that a total of 45 candidates passed the "5th Level 2 Life Rescuer Certification Exam."
A total of 108 candidates who passed the preliminary written exam took the test, which was held from the 28th of last month to the 1st of this month. Among them, Park Soo-min (25 years old) from Baekseok 119 Safety Center, Yangju Fire Station, was the only female to pass the exam.
The Life Rescuer Certification Exam is conducted in stages: after the written exam, the first stage evaluates basic competencies (basic physical fitness, basic swimming), followed by the second stage which assesses rescue skills including descending and climbing, underwater and surface rescue, vertical and horizontal rescue, manhole rescue, and traffic accident rescue.
The life rescuer certification was introduced to strengthen the capabilities necessary for life rescue, the most critical field activity in firefighting operations. Currently, the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters has 93 Level 1 and 849 Level 2 certified rescuers active.
Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi-do Fire School has been designated as a Level 2 Life Rescuer training institution since 2012, conducting education and certification exams.
