To Secure Special Treasury Funds for Disaster, Catastrophe, and Prevention Projects in the First Half of the Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam is making every effort to secure national funding for the successful hosting of the ‘2023 Sancheong World Traditional Medicine Anti-Aging Expo.’
The county recently visited the Ministry of the Interior and Safety with Deputy County Governor Jo Hyeong-ho and senior officials to secure national budget funding for resolving local issues.
This visit aimed to secure the maximum special grant fund in the first half of this year, including securing grant tax resources related to the 2023 Sancheong Expo.
Deputy County Governor Jo requested support for four projects: ▲ Renewal of the Sancheong Donguibogam Village Expo Theme Pavilion (1.8 billion KRW) ▲ Maintenance work on Chang-an farm roads (400 million KRW) ▲ Maintenance work on Gu-neung Village streams (300 million KRW) ▲ Construction and environmental maintenance of the 2023 Sancheong Expo venue (2 billion KRW).
He also actively explained the need for support not only to expand support for the 2023 Sancheong Expo but also for disaster prevention projects to protect farmland and prevent casualties.
Deputy County Governor Jo said, “To secure government budgets for resolving local issues, it is most effective to visit relevant central government departments directly and frankly discuss the necessity and difficulties of the projects. We will actively respond to budget procurement by working on the ground whenever projects require national or provincial funding.”
The 2023 Sancheong Expo is scheduled to be held for 35 days from September 15 to October 19, 2023, at Sancheong Donguibogam Village and the Oriental Medicine Medical Cluster under the theme ‘Promise of the Future, Traditional Medicine in the World.’
The expo is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Sancheong-gun.
With the goal of strengthening the brand of the traditional medicine sacred site ‘Sancheong Donguibogam Village’ and revitalizing oriental anti-aging wellness tourism, 65 programs across 10 types including exhibitions, events, and conventions will be held.
