Omicron Spread, Suspension of Official Document Dispatch Until the 15th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education has decided to temporarily suspend the delivery of official documents to schools until the 15th and postpone school events and audit schedules to next month or later.
According to the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education on the 6th, through the "Plan to Operate a Week Without Business Trips and Official Documents in April," various event schedules planned by each office, department, affiliated institution, and education support office under the provincial office of education will be adjusted and postponed.
In addition, comprehensive audits of institutions at all levels (schools) organized by the headquarters and education support offices within this month will be temporarily postponed and resumed after next month. However, urgent Omicron response support matters that need to be promptly communicated to schools or matters with legally fixed operation dates will not be delayed and will be implemented on time.
This measure by the provincial office of education is based on the judgment that, due to the rapid spread of Omicron and the surge in confirmed cases among students and staff at schools, the uninfected members are overwhelmed with classes and work, causing the school environment to face difficulties comparable to a "quasi-disaster situation."
Superintendent Jang Seok-woong said, "The difficulties schools are facing are quasi-disaster situations that cannot be overcome by the dedication of staff alone," and added, "We will fully support rapid quarantine measures and autonomous curriculum operation at schools."
