Deriving Tourism Development Strategies Reflecting Regional Characteristics and Conditions Through Discussion and Opinion Gathering
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City in Gyeongnam held a final report meeting on the Jinju City Tourism Development Strategy Research Project at the City Hall Cultural Lecture Room, attended by about 10 people including the head of the Korea Tourism Organization Gyeongnam Branch, the CEO of the Jinju Culture and Tourism Foundation, and related officials.
Since February this year, the city has been promoting a tourism development strategy research project that organizes city resources by category and usage in preparation for the Southern Inland High-Speed Railway era, research for improving tourism readiness and developing tourism content, and preparation for national funding public projects.
The Korea Tourism Development Institute participated in this project and derived detailed goals through several deliberation discussions and opinion gathering sessions.
The city plans to use the derived data to prepare feasible detailed project plans and output specifications.
A Jinju city official said, “This report meeting was an opportunity to report on the progress so far and future plans. Based on the opinions of the attendees, we plan to proceed with opinion gathering from related departments in Jinju City to review the effectiveness of the research data,” adding, “We will do our best to establish and utilize a mid- to long-term tourism development strategy and plan that can be practically applied to the city.”
