Former Gunwi Agricultural Cooperative President Kim Jin-yeol Announces Candidacy for Gunwi County Governor... "Will Lead Community Unity with Transparent and Fair Administration" Jin-Yeol Kim (People Power Party), preliminary candidate for Gunwi County Governor.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Kim Jin-yeol (People Power Party) officially declared his candidacy for the Gunwi County Governor election on the 4th at the Gunwi Youth Chamber of Commerce, unveiling his five major pledges.

Candidate Kim stated, “I will unite the divided public opinion in Gunwi and redesign Gunwi as the central city of Daegu and Gyeongbuk,” throwing down his gauntlet.

He presented five key pledges to take responsibility for Gunwi County’s future: becoming the city with the highest happiness index, a city filled with children’s laughter, a city safe for women and the elderly, a business-friendly city, and a global hub for culture, tourism, sports, and urban development.

Candidate Kim said, “Since Jang Wook, the respected elder and former Gunwi County Governor, has declared his support for me, I will devote all my efforts to Gunwi County.”

Regarding the relocation of the integrated new airport, he said, “Although new issues will arise once the project progresses concretely, for now, the urgent task is to consider ways to produce high-quality agricultural and livestock products and export them globally.”

He emphasized, “Agriculture, the traditional industry of our region, is the foundation of our residents’ lives. Just as small farms in the Netherlands regained vitality through rural convergence industries during their crisis, it is impossible to become wealthy through simple production alone. I will increase farm income by revitalizing smart agriculture and agricultural convergence industries (the 6th industry).”

Candidate Kim joined the Gunwi Agricultural Cooperative in 1984 and retired on the 30th of last month after 37 years and 4 months. After being elected as the head of the cooperative at age 43, he was re-elected six times, specializing in eco-friendly agriculture, livestock circular farming, and the beef cattle business, growing Gunwi into one of the nation’s leading beef cattle hubs. Under his leadership, the cooperative received first-grade management evaluations from the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation for 15 consecutive years and was selected as a Clean Bank for 11 consecutive years?the first in Daegu and Gyeongbuk.
