[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will hold the "2022 Busan Curriculum General Theory Development Launch Ceremony" to open the future together at 3 p.m. on the 5th in the international conference room on the 6th floor of the annex building of the Office of Education.
The launch ceremony will be attended by Superintendent Kim Seok-jun and 48 curriculum research committee members.
At the launch ceremony, after providing guidance on the Busan Curriculum General Theory Development, a regional curriculum development project promoted by the Office of Education, a video created by students on the theme of "Curriculum Desired by Students" will be viewed.
Students, parents, and teachers will write their expectations and hopes for the development of the Busan curriculum, announce their "hope messages," and then deliver them to the superintendent.
The "Busan Curriculum" is a collective term for the curriculum that students in the Busan area will learn at school.
The Office of Education plans to produce a booklet containing the nature of the curriculum, the direction of curriculum composition, and the organization and operation of school curricula, and distribute it to schools at all levels.
The "Busan Curriculum" will be developed by reflecting the characteristics of the region and the demands of the educational community.
To develop it, the Office of Education has organized the "Busan Metropolitan Office of Education Curriculum Research Committee," which includes students, parents, and teachers.
The research committee is composed of the operation division, development division, and participation division. The development division consists of teachers with expertise in curricula at the kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school levels, who are responsible for the overall development of the "Busan Curriculum."
The participation division includes students and parents who provide opinions through collecting views from the educational community and participating in forums and public hearings.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education plans to create a "Busan Curriculum General Theory Opinion Proposal" menu on its website so that the general public can also submit their opinions. It also plans to collect and reflect the broad educational demands of the educational community through forums and public hearings.
The Office of Education plans to announce the "Busan Curriculum" reflecting the opinions of the educational community in December.
Superintendent Kim Seok-jun said, "'Busan Curriculum' is intended to develop a learner-centered, future-oriented curriculum in which the educational community participates together," adding, "We will help children in the Busan area develop the competencies to live their lives happily."
