Gwangju Office of Education Delivers 'Hope 2022 Love School Fundraising'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Han Sangwon) announced that it held a donation ceremony for the 'Hope 2022 Love School Fundraising' campaign with the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education on the 4th.


The school fundraising was conducted from November last year to January this year.


A total of 6,672,450 KRW was raised with the participation of faculty and students from 25 elementary, middle, and high schools (8 elementary, 8 middle, 8 high, and 1 special school) in Gwangju.


The donations will be provided as transportation expenses through the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea to alleviate transportation difficulties for low-income youth in Gwangju.


The ceremony was attended by Jang Huiguk, Superintendent of Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education, Kim Hwansik, Deputy Superintendent, and Kim Jaegyu, Chairman of the Citizen Participation Committee of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.


Superintendent Jang said, “Once again this year, students have united their hearts bit by bit to deliver the Love School Fundraising donations,” and added, “I hope the donations gathered through the love of faculty and students will be a great help to low-income students experiencing transportation difficulties.”
