Establishment of Resident Living SOC Including Doamdoam Cafe, Gym, and Shared Living Home
[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do held the opening ceremony of the ‘Doam Culture Center’ on the 29th of last month.
The Doam Culture Center was created as part of the Doam-myeon Rural Hub Revitalization Project, with a total project cost of 3.6 billion KRW invested over about two years since October 2020. It is a complex facility with a total area of 1,170㎡.
The interior consists of various welfare and convenience facilities such as a multipurpose auditorium, Doam Doam Cafe, billiard room, gym, small meeting rooms, and a communal living home.
Since 2018, the county has invested 6 billion KRW over five years in the Doam-myeon Rural Hub Revitalization Project. Starting with the Doam Culture Center, facilities closely related to residents’ lives such as an eco-friendly parking lot, meeting plaza, pine forest maintenance, and village road maintenance are scheduled to be completed by next month.
County Governor Lee Seung-ok said, “I sincerely congratulate the opening of the Culture Center, which is the first fruit of the Doam-myeon Rural Hub Revitalization Project, made possible by the aspirations and will of the residents of Doam-myeon,” and added, “I hope it will be frequently used as a space for hobbies and communication.”
Meanwhile, the Rural Hub Revitalization Project is a project aimed at improving the quality of rural life and fostering the township as a center of development by expanding living SOC facilities while preserving the unique characteristics of the township.
