Gokseong-gun Receives 'Excellent' Rating for 5 Consecutive Years in Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure Evaluation

Gokseong-gun Achieves Honor as One of Only 14 A-Rated Basic Local Governments Nationwide

[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-sun] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it was selected as grade A in the ‘2022 National Basic Local Government Heads’ Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure Evaluation (hereinafter ‘Pledge Fulfillment Evaluation’)’ conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.

The Pledge Fulfillment Evaluation measures the results of local governments’ pledge implementation through a total of five indicators: pledge completion, goal achievement, resident communication, web communication, and pledge consistency. The results are expressed in five levels (SA, A, B, C, D). Gokseong-gun was selected as grade A, an excellent grade, in this evaluation, achieving the remarkable feat of maintaining an excellent grade or higher for five consecutive years since 2018.

In particular, this evaluation is the final verification of the pledge fulfillment achievement during the 7th local government term, and only 14 local governments at the county level nationwide received grade A.

Gokseong-gun’s pledge completion rate is 94.5%, exceeding the national average of 71.7%.

Above all, the greatest achievement is the establishment of the Gokseong Future Education Foundation, the nation’s first independent public-private-academic educational institution, completing the Gokseong-type educational ecosystem.

Additionally, by strongly promoting specialized strategic projects in three regional zones, it has driven balanced regional growth and revitalization, and it has been evaluated for its efforts to provide public services that residents can feel, such as integrated one-stop public welfare services, smart village broadcasting systems, and the operation of the Happiness Sharing County Mayor’s Office.

Based on these achievements, Gokseong-gun has also won the grand prize four consecutive times at the National Manifesto Best Practice Competition.
