Jangseong-gun, Early Payment of Public Interest Allowance for Farmers and Fishermen... Regional Economy 'Vitality'

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 4th that it will pay the full amount of 4.6 billion KRW in ‘Farmer and Fisherman Public Interest Allowance’ early to 7,746 farmers and fishermen in the area.

On the 30th of last month, the county thoroughly verified addresses, agricultural management entity registration, actual residence, duplicate applications, income requirements, etc. through the ‘Jangseong-gun Farmer and Fisherman Public Interest Allowance Deliberation Committee’ and finalized the recipients for this year’s allowance payment.

In addition, to stabilize the livelihoods of farmers and fishermen who are struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to revitalize the local economy, it was decided to pay the full amount of 600,000 KRW within this month.

The county will start paying the public interest allowance using Jangseong Love Gift Certificates from today.

To practice social distancing, payments will be divided by village and time slot, and eligibility can be confirmed at the administrative welfare centers in the recipients’ respective towns and townships.

A county official said, “We hope that this early payment of the public interest allowance will help not only farmers and fishermen who are facing difficulties due to rising fuel and agricultural material prices but also traditional markets, small business owners, and self-employed individuals.”
