Good Neighbors Honam Headquarters Collaboration
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Bright Eye Clinic 21 Hospital (Chief Director Kim Deok-bae) announced on the 4th that it successfully performed strabismus surgery on a child in a crisis family under intensive case management in collaboration with Good Neighbors Honam Headquarters (Head Jeong Yong-jin).
This surgery was conducted at the request of Good Neighbors Honam Headquarters.
Bright Eye Clinic 21 Hospital conducted a detailed strabismus examination on the child around July last year to check the eye condition and then performed strabismus surgery on the target child.
Since then, the hospital has been continuously monitoring the child's eye health through follow-up observations.
Director Kim Geun-oh said, “As a pediatric ophthalmology specialist, I have treated many child patients, but it is heartbreaking to see young patients who missed the treatment period due to their family circumstances. Especially for children with strabismus, they often become discouraged due to the gaze or teasing from those around them. Seeing the child's expression much brighter after the surgery than before, I felt proud that even a small support could be helpful.”
Jeong Yong-jin, head of Good Neighbors Honam Headquarters, said, “We appreciate the medical support for children in crisis families in the region during the difficult times of COVID-19. We will maintain a close relationship with Bright Eye Clinic 21 Hospital to support children in need of medical assistance in the area.”
Meanwhile, Bright Eye Clinic 21 Hospital (Chief Director Kim Deok-bae) and Good Neighbors Honam Headquarters (Head Jeong Yong-jin) will maintain a close relationship between the two organizations to support children in crisis families in the region. They plan to provide medical services through free medical examinations and surgery support at Bright Eye Clinic 21 Hospital upon requests for emergency support and medical assistance for children in crisis families in the area.
