[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dong-Eui Institute of Technology is responding to the 4th Industrial Revolution era by leading the "Innovation of Higher Vocational Education System" through the establishment of a metaverse shared university among 56 nationwide junior colleges.
Recently, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, along with 56 junior colleges nationwide, the Korea Higher Vocational Education Association, and the Korea Metaverse Industry Association, jointly signed an "Agreement for the Promotion of the Metaverse Industry in the Field of Higher Vocational Education."
On the 31st, the Korea Higher Vocational Education Association held a "Digital Innovation Metaverse Shared University Seminar" at the Kensington Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, together with 56 junior colleges.
The seminar was organized to revitalize "Metaversity," a metaverse shared university launched last year.
The goal is to build a complete Metaversity by 2025 that enables virtual experiential practical education crossing boundaries between universities and homes.
According to the agreement, participating organizations agreed to cooperate on ▲ joint research for the promotion of the metaverse industry in higher vocational education ▲ joint production of immersive content in higher vocational education ▲ joint efforts to propose related government policies for the promotion of the metaverse industry in education ▲ and hosting joint academic seminars on the metaverse.
The Korea Higher Vocational Education Association also signed a "Leading University Agreement for AI Convergence Talent Training in Junior Colleges" with KT.
According to the agreement, the two organizations will jointly cooperate to train AI convergence talents based on the metaverse platform and to revitalize Metaversity.
President Kim Young-do said, "We expect to build a new future education model that overcomes the limitations of individual universities by sharing information and achievements among universities and industries through a consortium composed of junior colleges and industries."
