Hapcheon-gun Operates Multicultural 'Chef's Taste' Cooking Program Cooking classes are being conducted for multicultural women marriage immigrants.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Hapcheon-gun Family Center in Gyeongnam is operating "The Taste of Multicultural Chefs," a multicultural understanding education program at Suryeohan Suragan, for 10 female marriage immigrants every Monday from the 4th to May 9th, totaling 6 sessions.


This program is designed to learn about the cultures of Korea, Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and China, and to engage in activities such as making representative dishes from each country, including Kkotddeok, Bibimbap, and Beongkeong Misueo. It was prepared to help female marriage immigrants settle stably.


A Vietnamese participant who attended the first session said, "I was glad to learn how to make ddeok, which I had always wanted to learn. I want to make it often at home and eat it with my family."


Oh Mi-hwa, Director of the Elderly, Children, and Women’s Division, said, "I hope this program will serve as an opportunity for female marriage immigrants with diverse cultural backgrounds to understand multiculturalism and acknowledge cultural differences."
