DK Board Proves Excellence of Semi-Noncombustible Insulation Material 'DK Board-X'

Highly Praised at Gwangju Kyunghyang Housing Fair... 'Formaldehyde FREE' Eco-Friendly Insulation Material

DK Board Proves Excellence of Semi-Noncombustible Insulation Material 'DK Board-X'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] DK Board Co., Ltd. received great response by showcasing the core-type semi-noncombustible insulation material ‘DK Board-X’ that meets the recently strengthened building code standards at the ‘2022 Gwangju Kyunghyang Housing Fair’.

DK Board Co., Ltd. participated in the ‘2022 Gwangju Kyunghyang Housing Fair’ held at the Gwangju Kim Dae-jung Convention Center from the 31st of last month to the 3rd.

The ‘2022 Gwangju Kyunghyang Housing Fair’ is the largest construction and interior exhibition in Honam, with participation from nationwide building materials, country houses, and interior companies.

At this exhibition, DK Board introduced DK Board-X, which secured semi-noncombustible performance standards using only the core material (single material) through joint research and development with HDC Hyundai EP.

Since 2019, DK Board-X, which has demonstrated the excellence of DK Board at various domestic construction exhibitions every year, is an ‘eco-friendly water-based’ product with excellent on-site workability, and is highly rated for its processability and semi-noncombustible performance.

Also, as a ‘formaldehyde FREE’ eco-friendly insulation material, it has been proven through numerous tests to be harmless to the human body even after installation.

Proving this excellence, in June last year, it received a ‘semi-noncombustible compliance’ judgment from the Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR), a KOLAS accredited testing agency, and ‘semi-noncombustible material compliance’ certification from the Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL), an architectural safety monitoring agency.

In particular, DK Board-X’s excellence was further proven by receiving a genuine product compliance judgment in the recent building safety monitoring conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and others.

Building safety monitoring is a system where the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, local governments, the Construction Technology Research Institute, and the Korea Conformity Laboratories jointly conduct surprise inspections at construction sites to preemptively block the manufacture, sale, and distribution of defective building materials, thereby preventing safety accidents occurring at construction sites.

Due to numerous fire accidents related to external insulation materials causing loss of life and property, the government amended related laws on December 23, 2021, to allow certification only for ‘core-type semi-noncombustible’ materials.

Even under these strengthened building laws, DK Board-X, as an ‘insulation material made from a single material,’ complies with the standards of the related laws and is openly recognized as a product that consumers can apply according to the relevant building laws.

This achievement is interpreted as the result of the long dedication and efforts of CEO Han Gap-ho, the DK Board corporate research institute, and all employees who have continuously invested in technological innovation for the development and distribution of honest quality insulation materials.

Han Gap-ho, CEO of DK Board, said, “With a mission to develop building materials that protect human life and safety through honest quality and continuous innovation, we developed DK Board-X and have repeatedly received genuine product compliance judgments from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport,” adding, “We will not be satisfied here and will devote ourselves to making even better products.”
