[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] Broadcaster Kim Yongmin, formerly of the podcast 'Naneun Ggomsooda,' unleashed harsh criticism toward the Democratic Party of Korea. He emphasized, "The Democratic Party should not expect to be supported again as it is now." He argued that without strong political reform measures, the outlook for the upcoming presidential election is bleak.

On the 3rd, Kim wrote on his Facebook, "Probably 80% of Democratic Party politicians are dreaming that the Yoon Seok-yeol gangster regime will collapse like Park Geun-hye’s and choose them," he pointed out.

He continued, "If you think about it, is the People Power Party the same People Power Party from five years ago? The prosecutor who arrested President Park Geun-hye five years ago is now the head of the People Power Party," adding, "Yoon Seok-yeol will be a shortcut to ruin rather than change, but does the Democratic Party think it can be chosen with the same meaningless politics five years from now?"

He also cited former President Kim Young-sam as a positive example of political reform. Kim said, "Suppose someone comes over the fence with a hand axe to harm me. Could I still glare and say, 'Kill me, you gangsters'? YS did just that," and added, "Reform requires this kind of mentality. YS quickly subdued the military, which had been so powerful that even birds flying in the sky would fall, during his 13 years. He used the public’s expectations early in his administration to carry out a military operation."

He went on, "Do you know how powerful the military was back then? Regional leaders such as local government heads, intelligence agency chiefs, court presidents, prosecutors, police chiefs, and even broadcasting station directors... the king of these positions was the division commander," emphasizing again, "Reform is not something someone else does for you; if you want to do it, you have to do it like YS."

Kim, who showed a strong pro-government stance before the last presidential election, has recently continued to criticize the Moon Jae-in administration and the Democratic Party. On the 31st of last month, he also criticized President Moon on Facebook, saying, "If the regime is handed over, the Moon administration’s policies will probably be completely denied."

At that time, President Moon’s side had published a collection of major speeches during his tenure titled 'A Country No One Can Shake.' Kim questioned this book as well, saying, "I can say for sure that this title is very rude and harsh. A country no one can shake? Are they deliberately denying the fact that they were thoroughly shaken by the coup forces?"

He added, "Look at how they called the head of the Corruption Investigation Office and told him to resign. This is not even the beginning of the curtain rising. I guarantee they will not just shake but uproot everything," and concluded, "That is the only option for the authors to secure legitimacy."
