Fire Near Summit of Gaeunsan in Seongbuk-gu... Extinguished Within an Hour

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] A fire near the summit of Gaeunsan in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul was extinguished within an hour.

According to the fire authorities on the 3rd, the fire that broke out near the summit of Gaeunsan at around 2:26 PM was completely put out by 3:26 PM, one hour after the fire started.

The fire department responded with 57 personnel and 9 vehicles after receiving a report from residents of nearby apartments stating, "Flames were seen near the summit of Gaeunsan, followed by faint smoke."

It is estimated that about 140㎡ of forest was damaged by the fire. No damage was confirmed at nearby locations such as Korea University campus or apartments close to the fire site.

The fire and police authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
