Yanolja Hosts 'Gangwon Travel Promotion' to Support Recovery in Gangwon Province Wildfire-Affected Areas

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Leisure platform Yanolja announced on the 3rd that it will hold the ‘Gangwon Travel Special Exhibition’ to promote coexistence with the wildfire-affected areas in Gangwon Province.

Yanolja is carrying out the ‘Gangwon-do, Let’s Play Green and Lush’ project to restore the forests damaged by wildfires in Gangwon and contribute to the recovery of the local economy through the revitalization of tourism in Gangwon Province. Until the end of this month, customers who book accommodation, leisure, dining, or transportation products in Gangwon Province through the Yanolja app will donate one sapling per transaction, aiming for a total of 100,000 saplings.

As part of the project, Yanolja has prepared the ‘Gangwon Travel Special Exhibition’ to encourage tourism in Gangwon and share the value of sustainable travel. Until next month, customers who purchase accommodation and leisure or transportation products in Gangwon together will receive rewards worth up to 30% of the payment amount. Additionally, when booking KTX and accommodation or leisure products simultaneously, customers can enjoy discounts of up to 56%. Hotel and pension bookings can also apply up to 10% discount coupons depending on the reservation timing, which can be combined.

Yeon Eun-jeong, Head of Marketing Unit at Yanolja, said, “Through this special exhibition, we expect to deliver the value of sustainable travel to customers while contributing to the recovery of the local economy by revitalizing tourism in Gangwon, which suffered great damage from the fire.” She added, “We plan to actively seek opportunities to grow together with local communities based on Yanolja’s infrastructure and expertise.”

Meanwhile, Yanolja is strengthening ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management by actively supporting communities affected by natural disasters. In 2016 and 2017, it waived commissions and delivered relief supplies to the earthquake-affected areas of Gyeongju and Pohang. In 2019, Yanolja created the ‘Yanolja Forest’ in Ok-gye-myeon, Gangneung City, covering a total area of 10,000 pyeong to aid recovery from the Gangwon wildfire damage.
