The Gyeongnam Sacheon City Facilities Management Corporation has begun inspecting for the presence of illegal hidden cameras installed in the corporation and major local tourist facilities.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Gyeongnam Sacheon City Facilities Management Corporation conducted an inspection from March 21 to 28 to check for the installation of illegal hidden cameras at the corporation and major local tourist facilities.

The corporation carried out the inspection focusing on tourist facilities expected to see an increase in visitors, aiming to alleviate citizens' anxiety about sex crimes involving illegal cameras and other recording devices.

Using specialized detection equipment for illegal hidden cameras, they thoroughly examined restrooms, shower rooms, and nursing rooms at five tourist facilities including Sacheon Sea Cable Car and Samcheonpo Bridge Park.

They filled holes or cracks in walls where illegal recording devices could be concealed and posted the inspection results at the entrances of each facility to inform visitors.

Director Park Tae-jung stated, “As a result of the inspection, there was not a single place where a camera was installed,” and added, “We will continue to regularly inspect for illegal hidden cameras so that customers can use the facilities with peace of mind.”
