[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, signed an agreement with KAMCO to support youth employment and established the ‘Cheongchun Balsan Workshop’ in the annex of the Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea Asset Management Corporation in Nongsong-dong, which marked its 4th anniversary on the 30th of last month.
To celebrate the 4th anniversary, Seo-gu announced on the 1st that it held an ‘Ontact Mini Job Fair’ targeting five companies located in Gwangju planning to hire personnel related to game development and artificial intelligence, providing 49 job-seeking youths with opportunities for both on-site offline interviews and online interviews.
It is expected that 16 job-seeking youths will succeed in finding employment through this event, and healing programs such as a ‘One-day Cooking Class’ prepared to support youths exhausted from job preparation were also conducted.
Since its opening in 2018, Cheongchun Balsan Workshop has referred a total of 14,896 job seekers and helped 921 people find employment. It provides various employment support services such as visiting employment support services at multi-use facilities and job competency enhancement special lectures for job seekers.
In particular, to assist job-seeking youths struggling with interview preparation due to the reduction of face-to-face employment support services after COVID-19, it has proactively responded to the recruitment market shifting to non-face-to-face by introducing VR interview experience and AI competency test experience programs for the first time among autonomous districts in Gwangju.
In addition to professional career counselors providing job support services, spaces such as reading areas, study rooms, information search desks, and cafeterias are utilized as spaces for youths tired from job-seeking activities.
A Seo-gu official said, “We will do our best to faithfully fulfill the role of Cheongchun Balsan Workshop as an employment support platform for various groups including youth by newly operating a 1:1 online employment consultation window and providing customized employment support.”
