[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] North Korea has attracted attention by including former U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping on stamps issued to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Kim Jong-un's tenure as General Secretary of the Workers' Party, while excluding President Moon Jae-in.
On the 1st, the Korea Stamp Corporation of North Korea announced on its website the issuance of commemorative stamps titled "10 Years of Great Revolutionary Leadership Seen Through Stamps," depicting the activities of General Secretary Kim.
The stamps released that day total 49 sheets, showcasing Kim's diplomatic and major activities over the past 10 years by year and category.
However, there were no stamps related to the inter-Korean summits held in Panmunjom and Pyongyang in 2018. In contrast, the stamps included images of Kim shaking hands with former U.S. President Trump during the June 2018 North Korea-U.S. summit and sitting side by side at a desk signing a joint statement.
Stamps commemorating the meeting of the leaders of South Korea, North Korea, and the U.S. in Panmunjom in June 2019 were also issued, but these featured only Chairman Kim and former President Trump.
Additionally, stamps depicted meetings with President Xi in March 2018 and June 2019, as well as a meeting with President Vladimir Putin in April 2019.
North Korea also excluded President Moon when it released a photo album summarizing Kim's summit diplomacy activities in May of last year.
