Hosts '2022 Local Government Chief Pledge Implementation Evaluation'... Highest Grade for 8 Consecutive Years
[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Han-ho] Wanju County announced on the 1st that it received the highest SA grade in the ‘2022 Basic Local Government Heads Pledge Fulfillment Evaluation’ conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
According to the county, the pledge fulfillment completion rate recorded 94.7%, significantly surpassing both the Jeonbuk average (72.3%) and the national average (71.7%).
With this, Wanju County has achieved the highest grade for eight consecutive years since 2015 in the ‘National Basic Local Government Heads Pledge Fulfillment Evaluation’ conducted annually by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
Wanju County is the only one among 82 county-level regions to have achieved the highest grade for eight consecutive years.
As of the end of last December, the county’s pledge project inspection results showed that out of a total of 113 pledges across nine major sectors, 103 were completed (77 of which are continuously pursued after fulfillment), and 8 are being normally promoted.
Key achievements include building a self-sufficient city of 150,000 based on the core pillars of a hydrogen city and a cultural city, such as ▲achieving an era of 500 billion KRW in national budget and 700 billion KRW in county budget ▲establishing the foundation for the quality of life in a 300,000 population city and a 500,000 metropolitan city ▲expanding the residential foundation for a self-sufficient city of 150,000.
As a foundation for creating various jobs, there are ▲completion of Techno Valley Phase 2 and small and medium enterprise agricultural industrial complexes ▲early attraction of resident companies in the established industrial complexes ▲promotion of Wanju-type social economy ‘Social Goods’.
Additionally, ▲revitalization of Renaissance Wanju for cultural prosperity ▲expansion of living sports infrastructure ▲nation’s first pilot implementation of agricultural participatory budgeting ▲construction of Wanju County Health Center, Wanju Fire Station, and Wanju County Dementia Relief Center ▲early establishment of educational infrastructure in the premium education city have all resulted in tangible achievements that residents can feel.
