[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Bodyfriend has launched sponsorship activities for marginalized and vulnerable groups in collaboration with the Seoul Regional Headquarters of the NongHyup Central Association.

Bodyfriend announced on the 31st that on the 24th at 3 p.m., it held a donation ceremony for sponsorship goods for marginalized and vulnerable groups with NongHyup Central Association at Gangdong-gu Office. The ceremony was attended by Park Sanghyun, CEO of Bodyfriend, Lee Junghoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, and Lim Soonhyuk, Head of NongHyup Bank Seoul Sales Headquarters. The ceremony was conducted simply while adhering to COVID-19 quarantine guidelines.

At this donation ceremony, organized to realize social value through sponsorship activities, both parties donated 150 boxes of Happiness Sharing Boxes (worth approximately 5 million KRW). The Happiness Sharing Boxes are daily necessities boxes prepared with funds contributed by both parties. These sponsored goods, consisting of agricultural and livestock products and food, will be delivered to marginalized and vulnerable groups through Gangdong-gu Office.

This donation ceremony is the eighth event held since Bodyfriend and the Seoul Regional Headquarters of NongHyup Central Association signed a social contribution business agreement (MOU). Previously, sponsorship goods were delivered to Yeongdeungpo-gu Office, Songpa-gu Office, Gwanak-gu Office, Jungnang-gu Office, Seongmojae Welfare Center, and Umyeon Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.

Notably, this is the second donation ceremony held in Gangdong-gu. In May last year, through Gangdong-gu Office, two massage chairs and 50 Happiness Sharing Boxes were delivered to public senior centers in Sangil-dong and the Seonggajeong Senior Welfare Center, as well as other senior centers and welfare centers within Gangdong-gu.

Since signing the agreement in March last year, both parties have promised cooperation in various fields including ▲ social contribution activities such as support for marginalized and vulnerable groups and participation in rural labor assistance ▲ urban-rural exchange linking city residents and farmers (or organizations) ▲ projects to revitalize the local economy such as expanding sales channels for agricultural and livestock products ▲ and expanding financial services for institutions and affiliated executives and employees.

Park Sanghyun, CEO of Bodyfriend, said, “We hope that the sponsored goods prepared by both parties will be a great help to our marginalized neighbors,” and added, “As a leading company in Korea, we will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities and strive to create a healthy society through various social contribution activities.”

Meanwhile, Bodyfriend is practicing social value through various activities. In September last year, it donated 271 massage chairs (worth approximately 1.5 billion KRW) to the Community Chest of Korea (Love Fruit), which were delivered to medical staff at COVID-19 screening clinics nationwide. To help the local community, it has been conducting donations and sponsorship activities for six years at Gangnam Dreamville, a childcare facility located near its headquarters. Additionally, it has established a 30 billion KRW mutual cooperation fund to support companies seeking to recover, carrying out mutual cooperation activities.
