[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-gwon] Jeonbuk Namwon Tourism is preparing for change by diversifying communication channels.
The city announced on the 29th that it has recently been consecutively selected for major Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism public contests, including the planned contest-type tourism development project, regional specialized eco-friendly accommodation facility creation project, Hanbok cultural regional hub ecological green tourism promotion project, smart tourism city creation project, and Hanbok regional hub support project.
The city, entering a new era of great tourism leap by generating synergy effects through linkage between projects, is busy preparing communication channels to share these achievements.
The first channel established by the city is the ‘2022 Youth Academy’ targeting media planning and event and festival planning youth.
This project, conducted for youths aged 19 to 39 residing in the city, was created to build a system for nurturing competitive talents in the tourism sector by gathering Namwon’s youth to train them in tourism program planning and event festival execution.
In particular, it is expected to play a significant role in promoting the 92nd Chunhyang Festival, which will be held face-to-face for the first time in three years from May 4 to 8.
The second communication channel is the participants of the regional tourism youth media planner training project.
As part of the region-led youth job project, the regional tourism youth media planner training project aims to catch two birds with one stone by matching Namwon’s youth media planners with cultural tourism arts, performance planning specialized social enterprises, non-profit organizations, cooperatives, and other companies in Namwon, providing jobs and fostering professionals to revitalize regional tourism.
In particular, this project is expected to contribute to preventing talent outflow and increasing employment rates within the region by directly providing jobs to youths residing in Namwon.
Additionally, the 2022 Namwon Tourism Project Citizen Monitoring Group, whose recruitment was recently completed, is expected to contribute by delivering opinions on various tourism projects conducted by the city, evaluating tourism policies from the perspective of tourism demanders, and communicating with the administration.
Yang In-hwan, head of Namwon City Tourism Division, said, “If tourism begins with experiencing and feeling through the five senses, then communication sharing such experiences can be said to be the completion and circulation of tourism,” adding, “The various newly established Namwon tourism communication channels centered on Namwon’s youth in 2022 are expected to deliver vivid Namwon tourism information to more people.”
