Additional Support Following 15,000 Small Business Owners
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 25th that, following the disaster relief funds for small business owners, it will provide disaster relief funds starting from the 28th to cultural artists, freelance instructors, charter bus drivers, and corporate taxi drivers who are in employment blind spots.
Approximately 2,000 people are eligible, and each will receive 1 million KRW in disaster relief funds.
Applicants must have their resident registration address registered in Suncheon City as of the 24th of last month, and for charter bus drivers, the main office must be registered in Suncheon City to be eligible to apply.
The application period is five days from the 28th of this month to the 1st of next month, and applications can only be submitted in person from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The application process will operate on a five-day rotation system. On the first day, the 28th, only those whose birth year ends in 1 or 6 can apply.
Application locations are as follows: cultural artists apply at the Culture and Arts Division, freelance instructors at the Lifelong Education Division, and charter bus and corporate taxi drivers at the Transportation Division. Applicants must bring the application form, ID, and supporting documents to the respective application window.
The disaster relief funds for cultural artists and others in employment blind spots provided this time cannot be applied for concurrently with the small business disaster relief funds supported by the Suncheon City Regional Economy Division.
Some applicants are excluded from support, such as those with business registration certificates, artists affiliated with national or public cultural and artistic institutions, and those enrolled in employment insurance.
A Suncheon City official stated, “As this support is provided to stabilize the livelihoods of workers in employment blind spots who have suffered from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we hope it will serve as a catalyst for those who have been marginalized and struggling. Following the small business disaster relief funds, this disaster relief fund is also expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy by promoting private consumption.”
