[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Former President Park Geun-hye visited the National Cemetery immediately after being discharged on the morning of the 24th, paid her respects, and arrived at her residence in Yuga-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu around 12:15 PM.

After saying, "I will contribute a small part to the advancement of my hometown Daegu and the development of the Republic of Korea," former President Park entered her residence.

Earlier, upon arriving in front of her residence and stepping out of the car, former President Park embraced a flower girl who presented her with a floral gift and shared her thoughts on returning home.

Less than a minute after she began greeting residents of Dalseong-gun, her political hometown, a man in his 30s threw a soju bottle, landing about 10 meters away from former President Park, causing the event to be temporarily halted.

On this day, while expressing her thoughts, former President Park left a national message saying, "I intend to contribute a small part to the development of the Republic of Korea," and "As a citizen and a good neighbor, I will repay your support."

Dalseong-gun, where her residence is located, has been her political hometown, supporting her from the 1998 by-election for the National Assembly to four consecutive terms as a district representative and eventually the presidency.

From early morning, citizens and supporters holding white, light green, and green balloons gathered in various streets to meet former President Park.

Above her residence, a large banner hung from an advertising balloon by the Our Republican Party floated, and welcome placards were displayed on buildings and utility poles throughout the neighborhood.

Former and current local officials such as Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin, Daegu Superintendent of Education Kang Eun-hee, and former Gyeongbuk Governor Kim Kwan-yong were also noticeable.

After arriving at her residence on this day, former President Park gave a greeting, experienced the soju bottle throwing incident, resumed her greeting, and about 15 minutes later entered her residence, which she was seeing for the first time.
