[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Former President Park Geun-hye will visit the Seoul National Cemetery, where her parents are buried, immediately after being discharged on the 24th to pay respects at the gravesite of former President Park Chung-hee and his wife.
Park’s lawyer Yoo Young-ha stated in a press release on the 23rd, "Former President Park will be discharged tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. through Gate 3 of the main building of Samsung Seoul Hospital and will briefly deliver a greeting."
He added, "She will then go to the National Seoul Cemetery in Dongjak-dong, Dongjak-gu, to pay respects at the gravesite of President Park Chung-hee and his wife, and afterward will head to her residence in Dalseong-gun, Daegu."
It is known that former President Park will issue another message upon arriving at her residence in Dalseong-gun.
Previously, former President Park was admitted to Samsung Seoul Hospital in November last year. She received a special pardon in December and was released at midnight on the 31st of the same month, after which she continued treatment at the same hospital.
Meanwhile, it is reported that President-elect Yoon Seok-youl is considering visiting the Daegu residence soon. Since President-elect Yoon plans to conduct on-site visits to various regions shortly, there is a possibility he will stop by Daegu during this process.
Spokesperson Kim Eun-hye for the President-elect stated, "Our position remains that former President Park’s health issues are the top priority."
