[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] President Moon Jae-in emphasized on the 22nd that "education should be inclusive not only of high-achieving children but also of those lacking basic academic skills," expressing concern over the academic gap caused by COVID-19.

On the same day, during the Cabinet meeting where the 'Enforcement Decree of the Basic Academic Skills Guarantee Act' was deliberated and approved, President Moon stated, "According to statistical data, the educational gap has widened further after COVID-19, and the proportion of students falling below basic academic skills has significantly increased overall."

Additionally, President Moon received a report on the 'Four-Year Plan for Enhancing Women's Representation in the Public Sector and the 2022 Implementation Plan' and remarked, "Although women's representation in the public sector lags far behind the OECD average, it is important that we have set our own goals and are increasing representation beyond those targets," praising the cooperation of each ministry.
