Yoo In-tae: "Yoon's Move of Office to Yongsan Feels Too Rushed... I Don't Understand"

"Many People Need to Move... Need to Give Them Time"
Kim Geon-hee Mentions '7-Hour Recording'... "There Are Strange Stories Going Around"

Yoo In-tae: "Yoon's Move of Office to Yongsan Feels Too Rushed... I Don't Understand" Yoo In-tae, former Secretary General of the National Assembly.

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Former Secretary General of the National Assembly Yuin Tae criticized President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol's announcement to relocate the presidential office to the Ministry of National Defense building in Yongsan, Seoul, saying, "I think it should be respected, but it feels too rushed."

On the afternoon of the 21st, Yuin appeared on SBS's 'Joo Young-jin's News Briefing' and said, "President Moon Jae-in also planned to move (the Blue House) to Gwanghwamun, so it's good that President-elect Yoon is planning to move now," but added, "There are only a few days left until May 10th, and if they are moving to the Ministry of National Defense building, so many people have to relocate. Shouldn't there be some leeway? I don't quite understand why they are rushing like this."

Yuin also mentioned a part of the '7-hour phone call transcript' involving Yoon's spouse Kim Geon-hee, which implied moving the Blue House. He said, "There are many strange rumors circulating in connection with Kim Geon-hee's recording where she said, 'We are not going there.'

Yuin said, "I wonder how it would have been if President-elect Yoon had met with opposition party leaders once and asked for their cooperation, saying, 'I plan to move the office to Yongsan.' At least a brief visit to discuss the purpose would have been appreciated."

Regarding the issues raised within the Democratic Party about the 'Yoon Ho-jung Emergency Response Committee system,' Yuin said, "The local elections are on June 1st, so the election is just around the corner. Why bring in an external emergency committee now? Local elections are the most complicated in terms of candidate nominations. Someone experienced in party affairs should handle it."

Meanwhile, the Blue House expressed reluctance on the 21st regarding President-elect Yoon's plan to relocate the presidential office to the Ministry of National Defense in Yongsan.

Park Soo-hyun, Blue House Chief of Public Communication, stated at a briefing at the Blue House Chunuchwan on the results of the expanded National Security Council (NSC) ministerial meeting, "President Moon Jae-in also pledged during the past presidential election to establish a Gwanghwamun presidential era and agrees with the idea of returning the Blue House to the people," but added, "The plan to relocate the Ministry of National Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, presidential office, and security office within the tight timeframe before the new government takes office seems excessive."
