A Boeing 737 passenger plane operated by China Eastern Airlines, carrying 133 people, crashed into a mountain in Yasan, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China on the afternoon of the 21st. Rescue teams are currently approaching the site, but no information on casualties has been reported yet.
China's state-run CCTV reported that the passenger plane, which departed from Kunming, Yunnan Province, en route to Guangzhou, had an accident in Teng County, Wuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, causing a forest fire. The state news agency Xinhua cited local rescue teams confirming the plane crash.
