Hamyang-gun, All Employees Join Effort to Revive Local Economy Amid COVID-19

Revitalizing the Local Economy through 'Dining Out Day' Operation at the Cafeteria

Hamyang-gun, All Employees Join Effort to Revive Local Economy Amid COVID-19 Hamyang County Office.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, allocated a portion of the customized welfare points given to Hamyang-gun employees to the mobile Hamyang Love Gift Certificate in order to revive the stagnant local economy.

Although these points can mainly be used at online malls or nationwide welfare card offline affiliated stores, Hamyang-gun is encouraging the use of the mobile Hamyang Love Gift Certificate locally by allocating a certain amount of individual points to the mobile gift certificate with the participation of all employees.

This year, the allocation amount for the mobile Hamyang Love Gift Certificate was changed from last year's 50,000 KRW for grade 6 and below and 100,000 KRW for grade 5 and above to a uniform 100,000 KRW regardless of rank. Additionally, simple product purchases, which were previously not approved as welfare expenses, will now be approved for use limited to local marts and markets.

Furthermore, Hamyang-gun decided to resume the operation of ‘Dining Out Days’ twice a month starting on the 22nd, coinciding with Hamyang market days, to support small business owners facing difficulties.

Seo Jeok-yong, head of the Administrative Department, said, “We will set a concentrated period for welfare point usage, encourage early use by about 900 employees who received points within March if possible, and take the lead in revitalizing the local economy by operating ‘Dining Out Days.’”
