[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Namyang Dairy Products announced on the 21st that it will hold the 2022 'Purple Day' event to support epilepsy patients and their families and promote awareness improvement in collaboration with the Korea Epilepsy Association.
Purple Day, held globally every year on March 26, started as a campaign proposed by Cassidy Megan, an epilepsy patient, to the Nova Scotia Epilepsy Association. She suggested wearing purple clothes to improve the negative social perception of epilepsy and strengthen the bonds among epilepsy patients.
In this event, participants can join in various ways, such as posting photos wearing purple clothes or accessories, creating messages to raise epilepsy awareness or support patients, and sharing them on their social networking services (SNS). Among the participants, 150 people will be selected by lottery to receive a 'Purple Day Lucky Box' consisting of Namyang Dairy Products' purple package products. Five outstanding participants will be awarded cultural gift certificates. Detailed information about the Purple Day event can be found on Namyang Dairy Products' social contribution SNS channel (Instagram).
Namyang Dairy Products has been developing and producing various special infant formulas for children with rare diseases for 37 years since 1985. The special infant formula 'Ketonia' for children with intractable epilepsy has also been produced for 20 years.
A Namyang Dairy Products official said, "We hope that messages of support will be delivered to epilepsy patients and give them strength," and added, "Namyang Dairy Products will continue to take the lead in activities to improve epilepsy awareness along with developing products for children such as special infant formulas."
