[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] In observance of 'World Water Day' and 'Earth Hour,' which emphasize environmental protection, Grand Hyatt Seoul announced on the 21st that it will hold a campaign to advance ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.

The bakery 'The Deli' at Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel is conducting a 'Bring Your Own Cup' campaign, offering a 1,000 KRW discount on coffee when customers bring their own cup or tumbler.

In mid-March, the hotel completed the full replacement of complimentary bottled water in all guest rooms with label-free products. Printed materials such as seasonal newsletters previously placed in rooms and ice rink or swimming pool tickets given at check-in are now issued digitally as much as possible to minimize paper usage.

Last April, Grand Hyatt Seoul participated in the eco-friendly campaign 'GoGo Challenge' hosted by the Ministry of Environment. The hotel replaced conventional plastic room keys with biodegradable basswood wooden keys, used electronic rainwater removers instead of vinyl umbrella covers, employed disposable cups and straws made from sugarcane and corn starch, utilized take-out containers with minimal vinyl coating and plastic use, and biodegradable resin bags, thereby reducing plastic use within the hotel to contribute to environmental protection.

The hotel's public relations officer stated, "Going forward, Grand Hyatt Seoul will make great efforts to engage in diverse and continuous ESG campaign activities together with our customers, employees, and members of the local community."
