[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Hyundai Heavy Industries Group announced on the 20th that it will recruit new college graduate employees in the first half of this year.
Starting from the 21st, the company plans to post recruitment announcements for new college graduate employees on its talent recruitment website.
The number of new employees to be hired this time is about 400 in the shipbuilding & marine, construction machinery, and energy business sectors, with recruitment fields including design and research, production management, sales, finance, and ICT (Information and Communication Technology). Including the 400 employees hired through rolling recruitment completed earlier this year, a total of about 800 new college graduate employees will be hired in the first half of this year alone. This is the largest scale since the shipbuilding industry downturn began in 2014.
Applications will be accepted from the 21st until the 4th of next month. The three energy sector companies?Hyundai Oilbank, Hyundai Chemical, and Hyundai Cosmo?will start accepting documents first. After document screening, practical and executive interviews, new employees will be selected by May.
The group explained that the large-scale recruitment decision was made due to an increase in order volume following the improvement of the global shipbuilding market and the need to secure personnel in the eco-friendly and smart ship sectors. Despite the shipbuilding industry downturn, the group has recruited new employees every year since 2016, hiring a total of 3,000 employees by last year. A group official said, "Rather than evaluating solely based on quantitative factors and uniform criteria, we plan to select talents suitable for the company through multifaceted review focusing on self-introduction letters and other materials."
