18th 'Broadcasting Video Leaders Forum' 2nd Meeting
On the 18th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the 2nd meeting of the 'Broadcasting Video Leaders Forum' to discuss policy trends and implications related to Over-The-Top (OTT) services. The meeting aimed to identify the limitations of laws and regulations revealed by the growth of the OTT market and changes in the broadcasting video content industry landscape, and to discuss improvement directions from various perspectives. Professor Lee Sung-min of the Media and Video Studies Department at Korea National Open University gave the keynote presentation, with Professor Bae Jin-ah of Kongju National University’s Department of Video Studies and Adjunct Professor Choi Sun-young of Yonsei University Graduate School of Communication participating as discussants. A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official stated, "Since OTT competitiveness comes from differentiated content, policies that can grow the content production market and enhance diversity should be prioritized," adding, "We will closely communicate with industry stakeholders and experts to foster the related industry."
