"Preventing Major Accidents with Drones"… MEISA Participates in Regulatory Sandbox Demonstration

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Meisa, which operates a construction drone data platform, announced on the 18th that it will participate in the government's regulatory sandbox demonstration project.

Meisa applied for a commercialization project that provides up to two years of demonstration opportunities in various environments using drone products desired by demand sources. In the first year, it plans to carry out development and demonstration, and in the second year, commercialization. The task of the Meisa consortium this time is the "Comprehensive Site Management System Using Drones for Preventing Serious Accidents, Safety Management, and Emergency Response at Construction Sites."

The regulations that can be exempted include △beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) flight restrictions △30-day permit period for industrial drone filming △night flight ban △flight approval for flights above 150m altitude.

Meisa will establish an organic real-time communication network together with △Reicom, an Internet of Things (IoT) specialized company focused on risk detection △Spinoweb, which detects dangerous situations in CCTV footage through artificial intelligence (AI) technology △Nota, which develops lightweight and optimized AI modules embedded in the solution.

Kim Young-hoon, CEO of Meisa, said, "The spatial information collected by drones will be used as the foundational data for digital twins of construction sites," adding, "Through this sandbox demonstration project, we will strive to develop into an advanced IoT solution capable of detecting and responding to disasters in real time."
