[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A Jindo dog was severely bitten on the neck after being attacked by two larger Golden Retrievers during a walk.

According to the YouTube channel ‘Jason-SeoTV,’ on the afternoon of January 28, Mr. A was walking a 3-year-old Jindo dog owned by an acquaintance on a leash in Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam Province.

On the opposite side of the road, two Golden Retrievers were continuously barking aggressively at the Jindo dog.

The owner of the Golden Retrievers lost control of the two excited large dogs and dropped the leash they were holding. The two Golden Retrievers crossed the road and instantly attacked the Jindo dog.

Mr. A tried to separate the entangled dogs with the help of nearby citizens and the Golden Retrievers’ owner but was overwhelmed. The Golden Retrievers’ attack continued for a while before the situation calmed down.

The Jindo dog, severely bitten on the nape, was transported to an animal hospital for treatment. Although the carotid artery area was bitten, fortunately, there was no threat to its life. Mr. A, who was walking the Jindo dog, also sprained his ankle and received a two-week medical diagnosis.

Last month, Mr. A filed a complaint against the owner of the Golden Retrievers on charges of negligence causing injury.

The owner of the Golden Retrievers reportedly claimed that he was bitten on the hand by the Jindo dog while trying to separate the dogs.

The Jinhae Police Station in Gyeongnam will investigate the exact circumstances of the incident.
