Goheung-gun Holds 2022 First Half Year Return-to-Farming Startup Fund Project Briefing Session

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that on the 25th of last month, it held a review meeting for the ‘2022 First Half Return-to-Farming Agricultural Startup and Housing Purchase Support Project’ at the Goheung Cultural Center, confirming the allocation of 5.8 billion KRW (5.2 billion for startups, 600 million for housing) in funds to 25 project recipients and held an explanatory session.

As a result of recruiting applicants for the loan project targeting returnees to farming and non-agricultural residents in rural villages, a total of 31 applicants (7 billion KRW) applied and were received. In the first round, eligibility and suitability were reviewed based on criteria such as the number of returnees, completion of education, and residence period. After a second round of on-site evaluation, the final project recipients were selected by assessing farming settlement motivation, loan repayment plans, and the appropriateness of business plans.

Project recipients can receive loans with an annual interest rate of 2% under the conditions of a maximum of 300 million KRW for agricultural startup funds and up to 75 million KRW for housing funds, with a 5-year grace period and 10 years of equal principal installment repayment.

In addition, Goheung-gun is promoting various projects such as youth return support projects, repair cost support for farmhouses of returnees and migrants, operation of happiness schools for returnees, interest differential support for return-to-farming and fishing policy funds, and housewarming support for returnees.

A county official said, “We will spare no administrative support to ensure that returnees to farming can settle stably in the region without hesitation,” adding, “We will continue to discover various projects for returnees to farming and work harder to create a happy Goheung where people return.”
