[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) opened the "Letter Literature Museum," where visitors can experience the "analog sentiment" and the "value of slowness," on the 14th.

The Letter Literature Museum, covering a total area of 402.31㎡ including exhibition rooms, program rooms, and offices, offers various exhibition and experience programs such as a media table, Mind Storage (video experience room), voice letters, and a photo zone.

At this Letter Literature Museum, visitors can encounter various letters and correspondence left by historical figures of Dobong-gu such as democratization activist Kim Geun-tae, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Gain Kim Byung-ro, cultural heritage collector Gansong Jeon Hyeong-pil, as well as domestic and international writers and artists, along with letter-related literary works like the epistolary novel "The Sorrows of Young Werther."

In addition to exhibitions, there is a "Mind Storage" where visitors can write electronic letters to convey their feelings, and a space to record voice letters instead of writing. The created electronic letters generate QR codes, which can only be opened by those who share the QR code.

The "Letter Literature Museum" operates from Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is closed every Sunday, Monday, and on public holidays.

Dobong-gu plans to offer humanities lectures, special exhibitions, and exhibition explanations through the Letter Literature Museum to help residents cultivate humanities literacy. On commemorative days such as Children's Day, Parents' Day, and Teachers' Day, they will also hold story contests to convey heartfelt messages.

Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "Letters have a different sentiment from instant communication like SNS or emails because they are written carefully, letter by letter, with deep thought. I hope people take time at the Dobong-gu Letter Literature Museum to reflect on themselves and their surroundings by exploring history and culture through the correspondence of great figures."

Jongno-gu has installed a total of 22 "electronic information boards" at 21 major facilities in the area and has begun full-scale operation.

Electronic information boards (digital signage) refer to digital bulletin boards that remotely manage content and display images and videos on LED screens.

Jongno-gu's electronic information boards feature vertical displays with brightness three times higher than regular TVs, offering excellent readability and easier management compared to paper bulletin boards. They also improve the surrounding aesthetics and are expected to reduce printing costs, leading to budget savings.

The installation locations were selected mainly at accessible places such as ▲Temporary Office of the District Office ▲Community Service Centers ▲Jongno-gu Public Health Center ▲Jongno Residents' Hall ▲Jongno Culture and Sports Center ▲Olympic Memorial National Life Center ▲Jongno Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.

As a result, residents can receive various news ranging from major district projects and policies to COVID-19 updates and lifestyle information through electronic information boards installed throughout Jongno.

The broadcast hours are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, with some boards operating flexibly on weekends.

Main content includes posters and card news featuring major district projects and policies, as well as programs from the internet broadcasting station Jongno TV. Since images and videos are played simultaneously using a split-screen method, content can be enjoyed more diversely.

Moreover, customized news will be delivered according to the installation location to enhance resident satisfaction. For example, community centers will show news about autonomous community center programs, and the district office will display screens guiding civil complaint reception locations, providing optimized content for each place.

The district plans to increase the number of installations in locations with high resident demand and will add electronic information boards to the annex of the Temporary Office (94 Building) and Bukchon Village Information Center in April.

An official from the district said, "We expect to provide residents with faster and more diverse news through electronic information boards. Since anyone passing by can easily access major projects and news of Jongno-gu, we will continuously monitor user satisfaction and expand installations throughout the district."

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will hold the "2022 1st Gwangnaru Academy" at 3 p.m. on the 31st.

The Gwangnaru Academy, a special lecture inviting renowned figures in Gwangjin-gu, will open the 2022 season at the Naru Art Center Grand Theater with the theme "The Future of K Education: Don't Teach, Play," featuring Professor Kim Sang-gyun.

Professor Kim Sang-gyun of Kyung Hee University, a domestic authority on the metaverse, will discuss with residents the importance and know-how of experience-centered education that navigates between virtual and real worlds in the changing Fourth Industrial Revolution era.

This lecture will be conducted both in-person and online via YouTube channel in real-time, depending on the COVID-19 situation, allowing residents to participate in their preferred way.

Residents wishing to attend in person can apply through the Gwangnaru Academy website or by phone to the Gwangjin-gu Education Support Division. The number of participants is limited to 250 on a first-come, first-served basis as of March 13, in compliance with social distancing, but this may change.

Additionally, anyone can watch online on the day of the lecture by accessing the official Gwangjin-gu YouTube channel without prior registration. For residents who cannot join live, the district plans to provide a replay video on the YouTube channel from April 1 to 7.

Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "The Gwangnaru Academy, started in 2010, is Gwangjin-gu's representative humanities and culture lecture series inviting experts from various fields to broaden residents' knowledge and provide diverse lifelong learning opportunities. I hope this lecture offers a chance to experience a new paradigm in future education."

On June 28, lawyer Park Jun-young, known as "Our Lawyer, Speaking of Hope," will meet residents through the Gwangnaru Academy.
