[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Simmons Bed has opened a food and beverage (F&B) store at Simmons Terrace, a complex cultural space in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.
Public Market, which started at the local restaurant 'Bistro Public' in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, has established itself as a representative local market in Daejeon with unique menus using agricultural products from the Chungcheong region, capturing the taste buds of gourmets nationwide. There are a total of four branches: the Daejeon main store, Daejeon Tanbang branch, Gwangju branch, and Icheon Simmons Terrace branch.
This collaboration is part of Simmons' 'Socializing' project, which connects regions and people. Through Public Market Simmons Terrace branch, Simmons offers a special socializing experience linking Daejeon, Chungcheong Province, and Icheon to visitors from across the country who come to Simmons Terrace.
In fact, Public Market Simmons Terrace branch has prepared a new menu item, basil pasta, which can only be tasted at Simmons Terrace. This dish uses basil pesto made with local specialties such as garlic from Seosan and pine nuts from Gapyeong, adding meaning to the socializing concept.
In addition, the store features agricultural specialties grown and raised in Chungcheong Province. These include organic wild arugula cultivated by farmers from the Yesan Agricultural Cooperative, the hot item melon from Yesan that sold out in 'one minute,' and antibiotic-free free-range eggs from Gongju, produced by feeding chestnut shells (yulpi), a Gongju specialty, and naturally raising the hens. Moreover, local specialties from Icheon, where Simmons Terrace is located, are also introduced to maximize synergy between the two regions.
Customers can also experience exotic food products such as olive oil, butter, cheese, pasta sauce, and honey, as well as wines personally selected by the sommelier-turned CEO. Additionally, signature Public Market menu items like jambon sandwiches, green onion potato soup, Greek yogurt, and granola are available.
