Jeju Police Agency-Senior Club-Neoyeongnayoung Welfare Community Join Hands for Crime Prevention

[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Police Agency announced on the 11th that it held a business agreement ceremony at the National Police Agency with Jeju Senior Club, Seogwipo Senior Club, and Neuyongnayong Welfare Community for ‘Crime Prevention Patrols Around Elementary Schools.’

The contents of the agreement include utilizing patrol personnel active in each organization and group to conduct patrols ensuring the safe commute of elementary school students, protecting children and reporting to 112 when witnessing crimes during patrols, and notifying Jeju Police Agency when discovering risk factors during patrols.

The patrol personnel consist of seniors aged 60 and above, with a total of 1,113 people assigned to each elementary school.

During patrols, they use the ‘Key Patrol Route Map’ produced and distributed by Jeju Police Agency to conduct meticulous and thorough patrols without blind spots regarding risk factors.

A Jeju Police official said, “We will realize a ‘reliable and safe school’ through community policing governance so that students, parents, teachers, and other school stakeholders do not feel anxious about crimes targeting children around elementary schools.”
