Hoengseong-gun Highest at 44.49%, Cheorwon-gun Lowest at 34.02%
512,416 Early Votes Cast Among 1,333,621 Voters in Gangwon-do
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The early voting rate for the 20th presidential election in Gangwon Province was finally tallied at 38.42%, marking an all-time high.
According to the National Election Commission on the 6th, the final results of early voting on the 4th and 5th showed that out of 1,333,621 eligible voters in Gangwon Province, 512,416 participated in early voting, which is more than one in three voters in Gangwon.
The early voting rate in Gangwon Province is about 1.5 percentage points higher than the national early voting rate (36.93%). The region with the highest national early voting rate is Jeonnam (51.45%).
Among the 18 cities and counties in Gangwon, Hoengseong-gun had the highest rate at 44.49%. This was followed by ▲Pyeongchang-gun 44.16% ▲Hwacheon-gun 43.34% ▲Taebaek-si 43.28% ▲Jeongseon-gun 42.94% ▲Inje-gun 42.75% ▲Yeongwol-gun 41.76% ▲Samcheok-si 41.39% ▲Yanggu-gun 41.19% ▲Yangyang-gun 40.47%. The lowest early voting rate was in Cheorwon-gun (34.02%).
Previously, during the 19th presidential election in 2017, the early voting rate in Gangwon Province was 25.35%.
