Seoul Lifelong Education Promotion Institute 'Moduui Hakgyo' Opens Spring Semester Enrollment from the 2nd

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] "Moduui Hakgyo," a space for learning and culture for all generations operated by the Seoul Lifelong Education Promotion Institute, is recruiting participants for its spring semester projects starting from the 2nd of this month. This spring semester will feature experience-centered projects under the theme of "Emptying," where all generations will participate together across various fields.

According to the Seoul Lifelong Education Promotion Institute on the 2nd, Moduui Hakgyo, which is celebrating its 5th anniversary this year, will operate programs each semester with the theme of "Modudaum" (being true to everyone), including ▲ Emptying (spring) ▲ Learning (summer) ▲ Filling (autumn) ▲ Sharing (winter). Having experienced COVID-19, it is a time to reflect on the meaning of "everyone" in an era where bonds and relationships with neighbors, family, and each other are important.

During the spring semester from March to June, projects themed on emptying will be held, such as "A Difficult Day, Time for Myself," which empties emotions through meditation and writing, and "Tea That Suits My Body," a project to learn tea blending that brings peace of mind.

Especially starting this year, monthly cultural events will be held within Moduui Hakgyo to provide enjoyable times for residents near Geumcheon-gu. This spring semester begins with a piano recital by pianist and adjunct professor at Seoul Institute of the Arts, Lim Hana, on the 31st, followed by a book concert by author Jung Ji-woo of the philosophical essay on emotions in modern society, "Anger Society," on April 16th, and a jazz performance by So What Nola Band, a youth marching band, on May 14th.

Additionally, various projects utilizing Moduui Hakgyo’s unique spaces will add even more fun. "Moduui Bookstore," which aims to be a bookstore for all generations, will hold a scent-finding perfume project unique to the bookstore. "Modu Playground," a shared space for elementary school children, will host projects to foster children's creativity. Furthermore, various projects such as chocolate making with people with developmental disabilities and making world snacks with families will be prepared using Moduui Hakgyo’s shared kitchen.

The citizen community school, where citizens directly plan and conduct projects, is also preparing active activities for the spring semester. The playful and creative play production community for seniors, "Banjjak Banjjak Saenggak Jejakso," will conduct a creative play project that recalls old memories. The "Hee Hee Rang Dok" community, active for the first time this year, will produce and donate audiobooks for the visually impaired using participants’ voices.

All projects at Moduui Hakgyo are open to all citizens, and registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis starting from the 2nd.
