[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gumi City, Gyeongbuk Province, has enrolled all citizens in safety insurance to compensate for damages caused by unexpected various disasters and accidents.


Citizen safety insurance is a system in which the city fully covers the insurance premiums to compensate for citizens' life and bodily injuries caused by natural disasters, explosions, fires, collapses, and other accidents.


The coverage items include death from natural disasters, death or permanent disability from explosion, fire, collapse, or injury, death or permanent disability from injury while using public transportation, death from drowning accidents, death or permanent disability from agricultural machinery injuries, and treatment expenses for injuries from traffic accidents in school zones. Coverage is provided up to a maximum of 20 million KRW regardless of the accident location or individual insurance subscription status.


The subscription period is one year, from March 1 to February 28 of the following year, and insurance claims can be made within three years from the date of the accident.
