"Partially Accepted My Pledge"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Yoon Seok-yeol, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, expressed his welcome, stating that the government has accepted his pledge regarding the temporary suspension of the quarantine pass measure.
On the 28th, Yoon said on Facebook, "I welcome today's government's temporary suspension of the quarantine pass," adding, "I have continuously told the public that the unscientific quarantine pass and business hour restrictions should be withdrawn."
He continued, "Although it is somewhat late, I positively evaluate the partial acceptance of my pledge."
However, he demanded that the government disclose data and explanations regarding the grounds for suspending the quarantine pass. He said, "A sincere attitude from the government is necessary so that small business owners, self-employed people, and citizens who have suffered from unscientific quarantine policies can understand," adding, "Unlike other countries, I urge the government to disclose data and explain on what grounds the quarantine pass was enforced in Korea, what effects it had, and the scientific basis for deciding to suspend it at this point."
He added, "I, Yoon Seok-yeol, will take the lead in fighting for the complete abolition of the quarantine pass and the unreasonable business hour restrictions that are driving powerless self-employed people to become criminals."
