[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Sejong Medical announced on the 28th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Seoul National University Hospital for mutual cooperation in medical device research and development and the activation of medical device clinical trials.
The agreement includes the provision of mutually needed information and personnel exchange in medical device development and clinical trials, joint use of facilities and equipment, and joint policy promotion.
Lee Jae-cheol, CEO of Sejong Medical, said, "I believe this is the first step to showcase the excellence of domestic medical staff and medical technology to the world," adding, "Based on extensive experience in domestic and international research projects and clinical trials, our goal is to develop medical devices that can contribute to improving patients' quality of life in cooperation with Seoul National University Hospital."
Kim Yeon-soo, director of Seoul National University Hospital, explained, "We have established and are operating the Innovative Medical Technology Research Institute for the fields of medical devices and data science," and added, "Based on excellent infrastructure, let us work together to address each other's unmet needs and make practical efforts to lead to product commercialization and export."
Sejong Medical employees received commendations from the Korea Medical Devices Industry Association President and the Korea Medical Devices Cooperative Chairman on the 25th in recognition of their contributions to the development of health care and the medical device industry.
