[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] Yoo Si-min, former chairman of the People’s Livelihoods Foundation (Noh Moo-hyun Foundation), compared the strengths of Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, and Yoon Seok-youl, the People Power Party candidate. He claimed that Lee is "smarter" because he passed fewer exams than Yoon.
On the 24th, Yoo appeared on MBC's 'News Outside' and said, "Lee's strength is that he is intelligent. Yoon passed the judicial exam on his ninth attempt when 1,000 trainees were selected, while Lee passed on his second attempt when 300 were selected. There is a big difference there," he said.
He also added, "Although Lee may be criticized for various personal matters, the fact that he became a presidential candidate and is engaged in a tight election race is because he has strengths that others do not."
When asked if there were any concerns about Lee, he replied, "There are concerns, but I think he is smart. He has excellent ability to realistically identify and respond to issues. People like that generally do not make big mistakes."
On the other hand, when asked about Yoon's strengths, he said, "There really aren't any," adding, "I don't know him personally, but he doesn't seem intellectually outstanding or self-interested."
He continued, "What I suspect now is that Yoon, since his time as Prosecutor General, has been preparing for a presidential run and has taken a confrontational stance against President Moon Jae-in."

Yoo also urged voters, saying, "You should not be swayed by opinion polls." He claimed, "Opinion polls are favorable to the People Power Party and Yoon," and emphasized, "Whether the polls are accurate or not will be known after the election results come out. Just vote for the candidate you support."
Meanwhile, Yoo has been sharing his views on the presidential candidates from both major parties through recent broadcasting activities. On the 23rd of last month, he appeared on KBS1's 'Let's Do Politics 2' and evaluated Lee and Yoon.
At that time, Yoo mentioned Lee's so-called 'brother-in-law curse' controversy, saying, "The parties involved, Lee's brother and mother, have all passed away. It's a personal risk but a matter of the past," while pointing out, "However, Yoon's spouse issues, his associates, and controversies related to shamanism are current risks."
Regarding Yoon's shamanism controversy, Yoo said, "I have doubts about Yoon. I wondered, 'Is he stupid? Does he think the public is stupid?'" He strongly criticized, "Yoon said his wife Kim Geon-hee really dislikes politics, and he said various things about his wife. If these are lies, then he is treating the public like fools, and if he truly believes and said that, then he has been completely deceived by his wife. He is stupid."
