Following the first round of support funds (200,000 KRW) last year, the 2nd round of disaster relief funds will be provided to residents experiencing economic difficulties due to the rapid surge of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.

The county will invest 3.15 billion KRW to comfort the hearts of residents who are struggling and exhausted due to COVID-19 and to revive the stagnant local economy by providing 100,000 KRW per person to all residents.

The recipients are residents registered in Hampyeong-gun as of February 24, and the support funds will be distributed through various methods, including a “visiting payment service” where residents directly visit village senior centers over nine weeks from April 14 to May 13.

A county official said, “Although the financial situation is difficult, we decided to provide the funds to support residents suffering from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” adding, “We expect that the payment will stimulate consumption and create a virtuous cycle in the local economy.”
