Icecream HomeRun, a smart learning platform for elementary and middle school students, announced on the 24th that it will offer a 'Homebata Service' that allows users to create and customize their own learning avatars in line with the rising trend of 'buca' (alternate personas).
The 'Homebata Service' enables users to decorate their HomeRun avatars, which are human-shaped, by customizing skin color, hairstyle, clothing, accessories, and more. For Generation Z students who value individuality, it provides a way to express and showcase a 'different self' within the HomeRun learning device.
To purchase items in the Homebata store, users need 'Con' or 'Cookie,' which can be earned through various learning achievements. These rewards are given based on dedication and thoroughness in content, such as daily attendance, completing 'Today's Learning,' finishing books in the 'HomeRun Book Cafe,' and diligently solving problems.
A representative from Icecream HomeRun stated, "To decorate your avatar more stylishly and beautifully than other HomeRun friends, you need more Cons and Cookies." They added, "We expect a positive learning effect as students will be motivated to study hard to earn Cons and Cookies." Furthermore, they confidently expressed future plans to "utilize this service in a metaverse environment that connects inside and outside the learning device to enhance learning achievement, study habits, and motivation."
Meanwhile, Icecream HomeRun is a learning service created by Icecream Edu, a leading edutech company. Recently, their paper on DKT (Deep Knowledge Tracing) submitted to a global academic conference was accepted, earning international recognition for their AI technology capabilities.
