[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Actor Baek Yoon-sik (75)'s former lover, Ms. K, is expected to cause a stir as she prepares to publish an essay containing private stories about their relationship and pregnancy preparations.
According to Kyobo Bookstore, the essay titled "Alcohol Survivor" will be published on the 2nd of next month. The author is Ms. K, Baek Yoon-sik's former lover, who is known to have candidly revealed her story for the first time in nine years since their highly publicized romance and breakup.
The book description includes: "The love between a 66-year-old male actor and a 36-year-old female reporter. Despite a 30-year age gap, the man and woman fell in love, becoming a topic of public interest. 'When you love, age is the same,' that was my thought at the time."
The publisher introduced the book by saying, "After the dating rumors were reported, there was a female reporter on a major broadcast network who planned marriage and in vitro fertilization but broke up after about a month. Nine years after the scandal, through Alcohol Survivor, she courageously and openly revealed her existence without hesitation."
In September 2013, news broke that Baek Yoon-sik and Ms. K, a reporter 30 years his junior, had been dating for over a year, accompanied by photos of the two together, attracting public attention. The two later broke up, and Ms. K claimed she was assaulted by Baek Yoon-sik's two sons. She then announced plans to hold a press conference but abruptly canceled it.

The essay is reported to include details of the romance and breakup with Baek Yoon-sik during the dating rumor period, the legal battles with their families amid malicious comments, struggles with alcoholism and suicide attempts, and hospitalization in an alcohol treatment ward, which is expected to cause controversy.
The publisher stated, "It was a sensational love story that overcame a 30-year age gap, but it ended in a very hollow way. Everything collapsed in less than a month. The developments following the dating rumor report are in the book. The judgment is up to the readers."
Anticipating controversy, Ms. K said, "I want to clarify in advance that sharing my life story is not to boast proudly or to serve as an example to anyone, nor is it to miss or bitterly hate someone I loved and target them."
Regarding this, Baek Yoon-sik's agency stated, "Ms. K apologized to Baek Yoon-sik nine years ago, withdrew the lawsuit, and reached a settlement. We are currently verifying the book publication and are considering strong and strict legal measures."
